Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and meticulous Quality Control Officer to join our client’s dynamic manufacturing team in Eldoret, Uasin Gishu County. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough inspections of raw materials, in-process production, and finished products to ensure adherence to specified quality standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform various tests and measurements using specialized equipment to verify product specifications and detect defects or deviations.
  • Document and report inspection and test results accurately, maintaining detailed records of quality data and non-conformances.
  • Identify root causes of quality issues, collaborate with production teams to implement corrective actions, and monitor their effectiveness.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality control procedures, work instructions, and inspection plans.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., ISO, KEBS) and internal quality management systems.
  • Provide training and guidance to production staff on quality control standards and best practices.
  • Participate in internal and external audits to ensure ongoing compliance and continuous improvement.
  • Monitor and analyze production processes to identify areas for improvement in efficiency and quality.
  • Prepare comprehensive quality reports for management, highlighting trends, issues, and improvement initiatives.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in a Quality Control role within a manufacturing or factory environment.
  • Strong understanding of quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001).
  • Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to problem-solving.
  • Proficiency in using various inspection and testing equipment.
  • Strong analytical and data interpretation skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
  • Competency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, Quality Management, or a related field.
  • Certification in Quality Control or Quality Assurance (e.g., ASQ Certified Quality Inspector).
  • Experience with statistical process control (SPC) and other quality improvement methodologies.
  • Familiarity with specific industry regulations relevant to the manufacturing sector (e.g., food safety, pharmaceutical, automotive).
