Key Responsibilities

  • Process bi-weekly or semi-monthly payroll for all employees accurately and on time.
  • Verify timekeeping records and consult with employees and managers on any discrepancies.
  • Calculate and process wage garnishments, deductions, and benefits.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and tax laws.
  • Prepare and submit all required payroll tax filings (e.g., W-2s, 940s, 941s).
  • Reconcile payroll accounts and resolve any payroll-related discrepancies or issues.
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, deductions, and tax matters.
  • Generate various payroll reports for accounting, HR, and management as needed.
  • Assist with internal and external payroll audits.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of all payroll and employee information.
  • Stay updated on changes in payroll regulations and software.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 2 years of proven experience as a Payroll Processor or Specialist.
  • In-depth knowledge of payroll best practices, tax laws, and accounting principles.
  • Proficiency with payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paychex, QuickBooks Payroll).
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote setting.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
