Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and monitor supply chain operations, including incoming shipments, warehousing, and outgoing deliveries.
- Oversee the scheduling and dispatching of delivery trucks and personnel, optimizing routes for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and conduct regular audits to ensure stock integrity within the warehouse.
- Liaise with suppliers, manufacturers, retailers, and customers to ensure smooth and timely deliveries.
- Prepare and process all necessary logistics documentation, including bills of lading, invoices, and shipping manifests.
- Monitor and report on logistics performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with all local and international shipping regulations, safety standards, and company policies.
- Manage and resolve any logistical issues, discrepancies, or delays that may arise during transit or warehousing.
- Utilize logistics software and tools to track shipments, manage inventory, and generate reports.
- Train and supervise warehouse staff and delivery drivers as needed, promoting a culture of safety and efficiency.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Logistics Coordinator or in a similar role within warehouse & delivery operations.
- In-depth knowledge of supply chain management principles and best practices.
- Proficiency in logistics software (e.g., WMS, ERP systems) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to multitask.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal abilities.
- Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making capabilities under pressure.
- Understanding of freight forwarding procedures and customs regulations.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Certification in Logistics and Supply Chain Management (e.g., CSCP, CPIM).
- Experience with route optimization software.
- Knowledge of local transportation regulations in Jamaica.
- Forklift operator certification is a plus.
