Career.zycto is seeking a dedicated and resilient Irrigation Support Worker to join our team in Rankin Inlet, Nunavut. As an Irrigation Support Worker, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of irrigation systems. This includes working with various components such as pipes, valves, pumps, sprinklers, and control systems. Key Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair various types of irrigation systems (e.g., drip, sprinkler, subsurface).
- Inspect and test irrigation systems to identify and resolve issues such as leaks, blockages, or component failures.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment safely and efficiently.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and design specifications for irrigation layouts.
- Perform routine preventative maintenance on irrigation components, including cleaning, lubrication, and adjustments.
- Assess water pressure, flow rates, and distribution patterns, making necessary adjustments for optimal performance.
- Document work performed, materials used, and system conditions accurately.
- Adhere to all safety regulations, company policies, and environmental guidelines.
- Collaborate effectively with team members, project managers, and local community stakeholders.
- Train and mentor junior staff or local community members on basic irrigation maintenance as required.
- Maintain inventory of parts and supplies, assisting with ordering as needed.
Required Skills
- Minimum 1 year of proven experience in irrigation system installation, maintenance, or repair.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
- Proficiency with hand and power tools relevant to irrigation work.
- Understanding of water pressure, flow dynamics, and basic hydraulics.

- Valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean driving record.
