Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage daily on-site operations, including scheduling, resource allocation, and supervision of all labour and subcontractors.
- Implement and enforce strict health and safety protocols, conducting regular toolbox talks, site inductions, and risk assessments to ensure a safe working environment.
- Monitor project progress, identify potential delays or issues, and implement corrective actions to keep projects on track and within budget.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless communication and execution of project plans.
- Inspect work quality, ensuring all activities meet required specifications, industry standards, and regulatory compliance.
- Manage and resolve on-site conflicts or challenges promptly and effectively, maintaining positive team morale.
- Maintain accurate site records, including daily reports, labour hours, material usage, and incident reports.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to site operatives, promoting skill development and best practices.
- Ensure all necessary plant, equipment, and materials are available on site as and when required.
- Participate in site meetings and contribute to forward planning and operational strategy discussions.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Site Foreman or similar supervisory role in construction (minimum 6 years).
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and relevant building regulations.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrable experience in labour management, including scheduling and performance monitoring.
- In-depth understanding of health and safety legislation and best practices (e.g., NEBOSH, SMSTS, SSSTS certification).
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Proficiency in basic site administration and record-keeping.
- Problem-solving aptitude with a proactive and decisive approach.
Preferred Qualifications
- NVQ Level 3 or 4 in Site Supervision or Construction Management.
- First Aid at Work certification.
- Experience with project management software (e.g., MS Project).
- Full UK driving license.
