Job Description

Are you a customer-focused individual with a strong work ethic and a commitment to safety? TotalEnergies is looking for enthusiastic and reliable Fuel Attendants to join our dynamic team in Kingston. As a Fuel Attendant, you will be the face of our service station, providing exceptional service to every customer, ensuring their fueling experience is smooth, efficient, and pleasant. This role is crucial to our operations, involving direct interaction with the public, precise handling of fuel, and diligent management of transactions.

This is a shift-work position, requiring flexibility to work various hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays, to ensure continuous service to our valued customers. You will be responsible for operating fuel pumps, accurately processing payments using our point-of-sale systems, and maintaining a clean and safe forecourt environment. Beyond the technical aspects, a key part of your role will be to greet customers warmly, assist them with their fueling needs, and promote our additional products and services such as car washes or convenience store offerings. You will also play a vital role in upholding our stringent safety protocols, preventing incidents, and responding appropriately to any emergencies, ensuring a secure environment for both customers and colleagues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet customers courteously and provide prompt, efficient fuel dispensing service.
  • Operate fuel pumps, ensuring accurate fuel delivery and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Process cash, credit card, and mobile payments accurately and efficiently using POS systems.
  • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the service station forecourt, pumps, and equipment.
  • Monitor fuel levels and report any discrepancies or issues to the supervisor immediately.
  • Adhere strictly to all company safety guidelines, environmental regulations, and operational procedures.
  • Assist customers with inquiries and provide information about products and services, including promotions.
  • Promote and upsell convenience store items or other station offerings when appropriate.
  • Perform routine checks and report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members to ensure smooth operations during all shifts.
  • Report any suspicious activities or security concerns to management immediately.
  • Ensure accurate reconciliation of cash and sales at the end of each shift.

Required Skills

  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations for transactions accurately.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in cash handling.

Preferred Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (CXC/CSEC passes beneficial).
  • Previous experience in a customer service, retail, or gas station environment.
  • Familiarity with Point-of-Sale (POS) systems.
  • Valid Government-issued identification (e.g., National ID, Driver's License).
