Key Responsibilities
- Lead engaging and informative tours for diverse groups of local and international visitors.
- Provide accurate and compelling commentary on historical sites, natural wonders, cultural traditions, and local life in St Paul, Vacoas-Phoenix, and Mauritius.
- Ensure the safety, comfort, and satisfaction of all tour participants, adhering to all safety protocols and company guidelines.
- Manage tour logistics, including scheduling, transportation coordination, and adherence to planned itineraries.
- Handle unforeseen circumstances or emergencies calmly and effectively, demonstrating quick problem-solving skills.
- Promote responsible tourism practices and foster appreciation for the local environment and culture.
- Collect feedback from participants and contribute to the continuous improvement of tour offerings.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism, enthusiasm, and energy throughout tours.
- Assist with any necessary administrative tasks related to tour operations.
Required Skills
- Fluent in English and French (both written and spoken)
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong storytelling and public speaking abilities
- Deep knowledge of Mauritian history, geography, culture, and ecology, particularly around St Paul, Vacoas-Phoenix
- Proven ability to manage groups and ensure participant engagement
- Valid Mauritian driving license (Class B minimum) with a clean record
- First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
