Key Responsibilities
- Serve customers promptly and courteously, handling all sales transactions (cash and card) accurately.
- Manage and maintain stock levels, including unpacking deliveries, restocking shelves, and arranging product displays.
- Ensure the newsagent premises are clean, tidy, and welcoming at all times.
- Handle newspaper and magazine deliveries, ensuring correct placement and display.
- Assist customers with product inquiries and provide helpful recommendations.
- Operate the till system, including opening and closing procedures, and end-of-day reconciliation.
- Maintain security awareness and report any suspicious activities.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in customer service or retail environment (minimum 6 months).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a friendly demeanor.
- Reliability and punctuality, especially for early morning shifts.
- Basic numeracy for handling cash transactions and making change.
