As a Pharmacy Assistant, you will be an integral part of our frontline team, working closely with our registered pharmacists to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the pharmacy. Key Responsibilities
- Assist pharmacists in dispensing prescription and over-the-counter medications accurately and efficiently.
- Provide excellent customer service, including greeting patients, answering questions, and assisting with product selection.
- Manage inventory, including receiving, stocking, rotating, and organizing medications and supplies.
- Process patient transactions, handle cash and electronic payments, and manage the till.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional pharmacy environment, adhering to hygiene standards.
- Prepare and label medications under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist.
- Manage patient records and ensure accurate data entry, maintaining strict confidentiality.
- Communicate effectively with pharmacists, other healthcare professionals, and patients.
- Handle telephone inquiries and direct calls to the appropriate personnel.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, record-keeping, and generating reports.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 5 O-Level subjects including English, Mathematics, and Science.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain patient confidentiality.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certificate or Diploma in Pharmacy Assistant/Technician or a related healthcare field.
- Previous experience working in a pharmacy or healthcare setting (minimum 1 year).
- Familiarity with pharmacy management software systems.
- Knowledge of common medications and pharmaceutical terminology.
