Job Description

Career.zycto is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Procurement Officer to join our dynamic team in Pontypridd. This pivotal role will be instrumental in optimizing our supply chain operations and ensuring exceptional value across all procurement activities. The successful candidate will be responsible for the end-to-end procurement process, from strategic sourcing and vendor selection to contract negotiation and ongoing supplier relationship management. You will play a crucial role in identifying opportunities for cost savings, improving efficiency, and ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality goods and services essential for our operational excellence. Key Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end procurement processes, from requisition to payment, ensuring compliance and efficiency.
  • Develop and implement strategic sourcing initiatives to optimize costs, quality, and delivery performance.
  • Negotiate contracts with suppliers, ensuring favorable terms, conditions, and compliance with legal requirements.
  • Conduct thorough market research and analysis to identify potential suppliers, assess capabilities, and mitigate risks.
  • Monitor and evaluate supplier performance, implementing robust vendor relationship management strategies.
  • Ensure strict adherence to company procurement policies, procedures, and relevant industry regulations.
  • Collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders to understand specific procurement needs and specifications.
  • Identify and proactively mitigate supply chain risks, ensuring business continuity and resilience.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of purchases, pricing, inventory, and supplier agreements.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the procurement function, leveraging technology and best practices.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Procurement Officer or in a similar supply chain role (minimum 3 years).
  • Strong understanding of procurement and supply chain management principles and best practices.
  • Exceptional negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in procurement software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed purchasing decisions.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy in all tasks.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CIPS certification (Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply) or working towards it.
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
  • Experience with specific ERP systems like SAP Ariba or Oracle.
  • Knowledge of local and international procurement regulations and contract law.
