Key Responsibilities
- Assist chefs and cooks with food preparation tasks, including chopping vegetables, portioning ingredients, and preparing simple dishes as directed.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including washing dishes, sanitizing workstations, and ensuring equipment is spotless.
- Support in receiving and storing kitchen inventory, ensuring proper rotation and minimizing waste.
- Operate basic kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, such as mixers, slicers, and ovens, under supervision.
- Adhere strictly to all food safety and hygiene regulations, including proper handling, storage, and temperature control.
- Assist with waste disposal and general kitchen upkeep to maintain a clean and safe working environment.
- Support the culinary team during peak hours, ensuring timely preparation and availability of food items.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to the kitchen supervisor promptly.
- Work collaboratively with all kitchen staff to ensure a smooth and efficient workflow.

- Fluency in English and/or French; Mauritian Creole is a plus.
