Career.zycto is seeking a diligent, detail-oriented, and proactive Finance Officer with a specialised focus on Budgeting and Accounts Reconciliation to join our vibrant team in the heart of London. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and monitor annual operational budgets and forecasts in collaboration with departmental heads.
  • Conduct regular and in-depth variance analysis between actual and budgeted figures, providing insightful explanations and recommendations for corrective actions.
  • Perform comprehensive and timely reconciliation of all general ledger accounts, bank accounts, intercompany transactions, and key balance sheet items.
  • Investigate and resolve all financial discrepancies, ensuring financial data integrity and accuracy across all platforms.
  • Assist in the preparation and finalisation of month-end and year-end financial closing procedures, adhering to strict deadlines.
  • Generate accurate and timely financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow forecasts, for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure strict compliance with all relevant financial regulations, company policies, and accounting standards (e.g., FRS 102).
  • Process invoices, expense claims, and payments, ensuring proper authorisation, coding, and adherence to company policies.
  • Support external audits by providing necessary documentation, explanations, and analysis to auditors.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of financial systems, processes, and internal controls to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience (minimum 3 years) as a Finance Officer or in a similar role with a strong emphasis on budgeting and accounts reconciliation.
  • Proficiency in accounting software packages (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, SAP, Sage) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, financial modeling).
  • Solid understanding of core accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and regulatory compliance.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities with meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, capable of articulating complex financial data clearly to non-finance stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritise effectively, meet tight deadlines, and work efficiently under pressure.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Part-qualified or fully qualified AAT, ACCA, CIMA, or an equivalent professional accounting qualification.
  • Experience with financial planning and analysis (FP&A) tools or enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
  • In-depth knowledge of UK GAAP (FRS 102) reporting standards.
  • Prior experience working in a professional services or recruitment environment.
