Key Responsibilities

  • Assist chefs with the preparation of ingredients, including chopping, peeling, slicing, and washing various food items.
  • Ensure all food preparation areas are kept clean, tidy, and organized according to strict hygiene standards.
  • Wash and properly store kitchen utensils, dishes, and cooking equipment.
  • Support the culinary team during service by assisting with basic cooking tasks and plating.
  • Monitor stock levels of ingredients and report needs to the senior kitchen staff.
  • Receive and store deliveries, ensuring proper rotation and storage of food items.
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including food safety guidelines.
  • Maintain a positive and cooperative attitude, fostering a harmonious team environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Head Chef or Sous Chef to ensure smooth kitchen operations.

Required Skills

  • Basic knowledge of food preparation and kitchen operations.
  • Understanding and adherence to food safety and hygiene practices.

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience (6+ months) in a kitchen or food service environment, preferably in a hotel or restaurant setting.

  • Basic proficiency in Portuguese.
