Job Description
Are you an ambitious and technically proficient Electrical Engineer with a passion for power systems and industrial control? IBL Group is seeking a dedicated and innovative Electrical Engineer specializing in power and control systems to join our dynamic engineering team in Trèfles, Rose Hill. This pivotal role will see you at the heart of designing, developing, and maintaining complex electrical infrastructure and control systems across our diverse operations. Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement electrical power distribution systems, motor control centers, and protective relaying schemes.
- Specify, configure, program, and troubleshoot industrial control systems including PLCs, SCADA, HMIs, and associated instrumentation.
- Conduct detailed electrical load calculations, short circuit analysis, arc flash studies, and coordination studies to ensure system safety and compliance.
- Prepare comprehensive technical specifications, single-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, control schematics, and other engineering documentation.
- Oversee the installation, commissioning, and testing of electrical equipment and control systems, ensuring adherence to local and international standards (e.g., IEC, NFPA, IEEE).
- Provide expert technical support and guidance to maintenance teams for operational issues, system diagnostics, and proactive optimizations.
- Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary engineering teams, project managers, and external vendors to deliver projects on time and within budget.
- Ensure all designs, installations, and modifications strictly adhere to safety regulations, environmental standards, and company policies.
- Research, evaluate, and recommend new technologies, equipment, and best practices to enhance system performance, reliability, and energy efficiency.
- Conduct thorough site surveys and inspections to assess existing electrical infrastructure and identify areas for improvement or upgrades.
- Develop and implement robust preventative maintenance programs for critical electrical and control systems.
- Mentor and train junior engineers and technicians on complex electrical and control system functionalities and troubleshooting techniques.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in electrical design software (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN).
- Strong understanding of power systems, including generation, transmission, and distribution.
- Expertise in industrial control systems (PLCs, SCADA, HMI programming – Siemens, Rockwell preferred).
- Knowledge of electrical codes and standards (e.g., IEC, NFPA 70E).
- Experience with protective relaying and coordination.
- Familiarity with variable frequency drives (VFDs) and motor control.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Project management fundamentals.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification.
- Experience with renewable energy integration (solar PV, wind).
- Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices for industrial control systems.
- Familiarity with power system simulation software (e.g., ETAP, DIgSILENT PowerFactory).
