Job Description
Bindura Nickel Corporation is seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Part-Time Audit Associate to join our internal audit team in Bindura. This role offers an excellent opportunity for an emerging professional to gain hands-on experience in financial and operational auditing within a dynamic mining environment. The Part-Time Audit Associate will assist in performing various audit procedures, ensuring compliance with established policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. You will work closely with senior auditors to review financial records, operational processes, and internal controls, contributing to the identification of risks and the enhancement of organizational efficiency. This position requires a strong analytical mind, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to accuracy and integrity. We are looking for an individual who is eager to learn, proactive, and can contribute effectively to our team’s objectives on a part-time basis.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the execution of internal audit engagements, including financial, operational, and compliance audits, under the guidance of senior auditors.
- Conduct preliminary research and gather relevant data for audit planning and fieldwork.
- Perform substantive testing and walkthroughs of business processes to evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls.
- Document audit findings, observations, and recommendations clearly and concisely.
- Assist in the preparation of audit working papers and reports, ensuring adherence to professional standards.
- Follow up on previously identified audit issues and management action plans to ensure timely resolution.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of internal audit methodologies and processes.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of all company information and audit findings.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Foundational understanding of accounting principles and auditing standards.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Demonstrated integrity and ethical conduct.
Preferred Qualifications
- Progress towards a professional certification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, CPA, CIA).
