Job Description
We are actively seeking motivated and diligent individuals to join our team as Ground Staff for an immediate start at Motebong Lodge in Likileng, Butha-Buthe. This is a critical hands-on role that ensures the seamless operation and pristine appearance of our lodge grounds and outdoor facilities. As Ground Staff, you will be a vital part of our outdoor operations, directly contributing to the overall guest experience and the beautiful aesthetic of our property. Your responsibilities will span across various outdoor maintenance and support tasks, demanding a proactive approach and keen attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities
- Perform regular landscaping duties, including mowing, weeding, planting, pruning, and general garden and lawn maintenance to uphold the lodge's aesthetic standards.
- Ensure the cleanliness and tidiness of all outdoor areas, pathways, common spaces, parking lots, and staff facilities.
- Assist guests with luggage handling and transportation within the lodge premises, providing courteous and efficient service when required.
- Provide general assistance and support to other departments (e.g., Housekeeping, Maintenance) for outdoor-related tasks or special projects.
- Monitor and promptly report any maintenance issues, potential hazards, security concerns, or irregularities observed on the grounds.
- Operate and maintain basic gardening and cleaning equipment safely and efficiently, ensuring proper storage and care.
- Support the setup and breakdown procedures for outdoor events, activities, or special functions hosted at the lodge.
- Adhere strictly to all lodge safety regulations, environmental policies, and operational procedures.
- Contribute to a positive, welcoming, and collaborative environment for both guests and colleagues.
- Assist with waste management and recycling initiatives across the lodge premises.
- Conduct minor repairs or adjustments to outdoor furniture, fixtures, or pathways as instructed.
Required Skills
- Proven physical stamina and ability to perform demanding outdoor tasks in various weather conditions.
- Basic knowledge of gardening, landscape maintenance, and plant care.
- Competency in operating basic manual and powered gardening tools (e.g., mowers, trimmers, rakes) safely.
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive, meticulous approach to cleanliness and upkeep.
- Reliable, punctual, and possessing a strong, self-motivated work ethic.
- Ability to work effectively both independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Basic communication skills in English and Sesotho to interact with guests and colleagues.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and public holidays as per operational needs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience (at least 6 months) in a hospitality, landscaping, or similar outdoor maintenance role.
- Familiarity with lodge or resort operations and guest service protocols.
- A valid driver's license (Lesotho equivalent) for operating small utility vehicles within the premises.
- Basic First Aid certification or willingness to undertake training.
