Career.zycto is actively seeking a highly motivated and skilled Casual Lighting Operator to join our dynamic team, supporting a diverse array of events across Mitte, Hildesheim. Your role will encompass the full spectrum of lighting production, from meticulous pre-event planning and careful equipment preparation to efficient on-site setup, precise operation during live events, and organized post-event strike. You’ll have the opportunity to work with a variety of state-of-the-art lighting fixtures, including intelligent moving heads, LED washes, conventional stage lights, and specialty effects. Key Responsibilities
- Execute lighting designs according to production specifications and artistic vision.
- Set up, rig, and focus various lighting fixtures and associated equipment safely and efficiently.
- Operate lighting consoles during live events, programming cues and making real-time adjustments as needed.
- Perform routine checks, maintenance, and troubleshooting of lighting systems and equipment.
- Collaborate effectively with event managers, directors, sound engineers, and other technical staff.
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and industry best practices for rigging, electrical, and operational procedures.
- Assist with the load-out and secure storage of all lighting equipment post-event.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace and equipment inventory.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a lighting operator in live events, theatre, or similar environments.
- Proficiency with DMX-based lighting control consoles (e.g., Chamsys, Avolites, GrandMA basics).
- Strong understanding of lighting theory, color mixing, and stagecraft.
- Knowledge of various lighting fixtures, including conventional, LED, and intelligent moving lights.
- Basic electrical knowledge and adherence to safety standards.
- Ability to read and interpret lighting plots and technical drawings.
- Excellent problem-solving skills under pressure.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Physical stamina to lift and move heavy equipment, and work in varied environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Formal education or certification in lighting design, stage technology, or related field.
- Experience with lighting network protocols (Art-Net, sACN).
- Proficiency with CAD software for lighting design (e.g., Vectorworks, Lightwright).
- Valid German driver's license (Class B or higher).
- A portfolio or reel showcasing previous lighting work.
- Fluency in German and English.
