Key Responsibilities
- Perform a variety of microbiological tests on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products.
- Isolate, identify, and characterize microorganisms using classical and molecular techniques.
- Develop, optimize, and validate new microbiological methods and assays.
- Conduct environmental monitoring of cleanrooms and controlled areas.
- Analyze and interpret experimental data, prepare detailed reports, and present findings to the team.
- Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure proper calibration and functioning.
- Adhere strictly to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), and internal Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Participate in root cause analysis for out-of-specification results and implement corrective actions.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of laboratory processes and quality systems.
Required Skills
- Master's degree in Microbiology, Biotechnology, or a related scientific field.
- Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in a microbiology laboratory, preferably within a pharmaceutical or biotechnology setting.
- Proficiency in aseptic techniques and microbial culture methods.
- Strong understanding of microbial identification techniques (e.g., PCR, sequencing, biochemical tests).
- Experience with various analytical instruments specific to microbiology.
- Excellent data analysis, interpretation, and reporting skills.
- Familiarity with GMP/GLP regulations and quality control principles.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Fluency in English (written and spoken).
Preferred Qualifications
- PhD in Microbiology or a related field.
- Experience with validation of microbiological methods.
- Knowledge of European Pharmacopoeia and other relevant regulatory guidelines.
- Experience with LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System).
- Proficiency in German is a plus.
