Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated, hospitable, and detail-oriented Hotel Receptionist to be the welcoming face of Boma Inn Eldoret. As the first point of contact for our esteemed guests, you will play a pivotal role in shaping their experience from the moment they arrive until their departure. This position demands a professional who is not only adept at managing front desk operations but also possesses a genuine passion for guest service and a commitment to creating memorable stays. You will be responsible for handling check-ins and check-outs efficiently, managing reservations, responding to guest inquiries, and ensuring all front office procedures run smoothly. Key Responsibilities
- Warmly welcome guests upon their arrival and manage the check-in process efficiently, including assigning rooms and issuing keys.
- Handle guest check-outs, process payments accurately, and assist with any final requests or feedback.
- Manage all incoming calls, direct them appropriately, and provide information about hotel services and local attractions.
- Process reservations, modifications, and cancellations, ensuring accuracy and optimal room occupancy.
- Address guest inquiries, concerns, and complaints promptly and professionally, escalating issues to management when necessary.
- Maintain an organized and tidy front desk area, ensuring all necessary supplies and information are readily available.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and preparing reports as required.
- Collaborate effectively with other hotel departments (housekeeping, F&B) to ensure seamless guest service.
- Adhere to all hotel policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
Required Skills
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a front desk or customer service role, preferably within the hospitality industry.
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with a professional and friendly demeanor.
- Proficiency in using hotel management software (PMS) and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask effectively under pressure.
- Proven problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to guest satisfaction.
- Impeccable personal presentation and grooming standards.
- Fluency in English and Swahili.
Preferred Qualifications
- Diploma or Certificate in Hospitality Management, Front Office Operations, or a related field.
- Experience with a specific Property Management System (PMS) like Opera, Fidelio, or similar.
- Knowledge of local Eldoret attractions and amenities.
