Job Description
We are seeking a highly organised, meticulous, and proactive Solicitor Assistant to provide essential support across our Corporate and Family Law departments. Key Responsibilities
- Draft, proofread, and format a wide range of legal documents, correspondence, and presentations for both corporate and family law cases.
- Conduct thorough legal research, gathering relevant information, statutes, and case law precedents to support ongoing matters.
- Manage client files comprehensively, ensuring all documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and maintained with strict confidentiality.
- Efficiently schedule appointments, coordinate meetings, and manage diaries for solicitors, optimising their time and availability.
- Liaise professionally with clients, barristers, court staff, and other external parties, acting as a key point of contact.
- Assist diligently with the preparation for court hearings, client consultations, and corporate transaction closings.
- Process all incoming and outgoing mail, emails, and calls, strategically prioritising urgent communications.
- Provide comprehensive billing and administrative support, including accurate time recording and efficient expense management.
- Organise and maintain both physical and electronic filing systems, ensuring easy retrieval and compliance.
- Support general office duties as required to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of both legal departments.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Solicitor Assistant, Paralegal, or Legal Secretary (minimum of 12 months in a legal environment).
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for grammar and punctuation.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Strong organisational abilities and excellent time management skills, capable of multitasking effectively.
