Career.zycto is seeking enthusiastic and knowledgeable Adventure Tour Guides to lead unforgettable experiences across the breathtaking landscapes and cultural treasures of Phoenix, Vacoas-Phoenix, and the wider Mauritius island. Key Responsibilities
- Lead and guide groups on various adventure tours, including hiking, cultural excursions, and sightseeing, adhering to planned itineraries.
- Provide engaging, accurate, and relevant commentary on local history, culture, geology, flora, and fauna.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all tour participants, conducting safety briefings and managing any potential risks.
- Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction by addressing guest inquiries, concerns, and special requests professionally.
- Manage group dynamics effectively, ensuring a positive and inclusive experience for all guests.
- Operate and maintain tour equipment as needed, reporting any issues promptly.
- Adhere to all company policies, local regulations, and environmental guidelines.
- Assist with basic first aid if necessary and know how to escalate emergencies.
- Complete post-tour reports and provide feedback for continuous improvement.
Required Skills
- Excellent verbal communication and storytelling skills.
- Proficiency in English and French (both written and spoken).
- Strong knowledge of Mauritius' geography, history, culture, and natural environment.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
- Proven ability to manage groups and lead outdoor activities safely.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills and ability to handle unexpected situations.
- Physical fitness appropriate for leading active tours (hiking, walking long distances).
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification in First Aid and CPR.
- Additional language proficiency (e.g., German, Mandarin, Creole).
- Previous experience as a tour guide or in a customer-facing role within the tourism industry.
- Valid driving license with experience driving passenger vehicles.
- Degree or diploma in Tourism, Hospitality, Environmental Studies, or a related field.
