As an Emergency Dispatcher, you will be the first point of contact for individuals facing critical situations. Key Responsibilities
- Receive and accurately process incoming emergency calls, identifying the nature of the emergency and critical information.
- Prioritize calls based on established protocols and urgency, ensuring appropriate response levels.
- Dispatch police, fire, ambulance, and other emergency services to incident locations swiftly and efficiently.
- Provide clear, concise, and calming pre-arrival instructions to callers during medical emergencies or other critical situations.
- Maintain continuous communication with field units, providing updates and receiving status reports.
- Operate multi-channel radio, telephone, and computer-aided dispatch (CAD) systems with proficiency.
- Record all incident details, actions taken, and communications accurately in dispatch logs and databases.
- Monitor multiple emergency frequencies and security systems, recognizing potential developing situations.
- Adhere strictly to all departmental policies, procedures, and relevant legal regulations.
- Collaborate effectively with other dispatchers, supervisors, and external agencies to ensure seamless coordination.
Required Skills
- Fluency in German and English (written and spoken) is essential.
- Exceptional verbal communication skills, including active listening and clear articulation.
- Proven ability to remain calm, focused, and effective under pressure in high-stress situations.
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills to make rapid, sound decisions.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications and ability to learn new dispatch software quickly.

Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience as an emergency dispatcher, call taker, or in a similar critical communications role.
- Knowledge of local geography and road networks within Munich and the Laim district.
- Certifications in Emergency Medical Dispatch (EMD) or Emergency Police Dispatch (EPD).
