Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with directors, producers, and creative teams to define the musical vision and aesthetic for various film, TV, and digital projects.
  • Research, curate, and present a diverse range of musical options, including existing licensed tracks, production music, and original compositions.
  • Manage all aspects of music licensing and clearance, including negotiating terms, fees, and usage rights with labels, publishers, and artists.
  • Oversee music budgets, ensuring cost-effective solutions while maintaining high creative standards.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with artists, agents, music libraries, publishers, and record labels.
  • Provide creative input and guidance during pre-production, production, and post-production phases, including spotting sessions and final mixes.
  • Stay current with music industry trends, new artists, and evolving licensing practices to inform strategic decisions.

Required Skills

  • Minimum 4 years of experience as a Music Supervisor, Music Coordinator, or in a similar music licensing role within film/TV.
  • Deep, encyclopedic knowledge of music across diverse genres, eras, and cultural contexts.
  • Demonstrated expertise in music licensing, clearance, and rights management.
  • Strong negotiation and budget management skills.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency with music supervision software and databases.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Music, Film Production, Entertainment Law, or a related field.
  • Existing network of relationships within the music and entertainment industries.
  • Experience with international music markets and global rights.
