Key Responsibilities

  • Perform daily cleaning tasks in residents' rooms, common areas, dining rooms, bathrooms, and offices.
  • Dusting, vacuuming, mopping, sweeping, and polishing surfaces to a high standard.
  • Emptying waste bins and ensuring proper segregation and disposal of waste, including clinical waste where applicable.
  • Cleaning and sanitizing toilets, sinks, and showers, adhering to strict hygiene protocols.
  • Replenishing supplies such as toilet paper, soap, hand towels, and other consumables.
  • Reporting any maintenance issues, damage, or hazards observed to the supervisor promptly.
  • Adhering strictly to health and safety regulations, COSHH guidelines, and infection control policies.
  • Using cleaning materials and equipment safely, efficiently, and according to manufacturer's instructions.
  • Maintaining a clean, organised, and tidy cleaning storage area.
  • Working respectfully and discreetly around residents, staff, and visitors, maintaining privacy and dignity.

Required Skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Basic understanding of health and safety practices in a care environment.
  • Knowledge of COSHH regulations (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health).
  • Previous experience in a care, hospitality, or public service setting (even if not specifically cleaning).
  • Ability to speak additional languages commonly spoken in London (e.g., Polish, Portuguese, Bengali) is a plus.
