Job Description

Career.zycto is seeking compassionate and dedicated Live-In Care Workers to join our expanding team in Dalry, Edinburgh. This unique opportunity allows you to provide essential, person-centred care and companionship to individuals within their own homes, fostering independence and enhancing their quality of life. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive personal care, including assistance with bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility.
  • Administer medication as prescribed, adhering strictly to care plans and recording protocols.
  • Prepare nutritious and appealing meals, considering dietary requirements and preferences.
  • Offer companionship and engage clients in stimulating activities, fostering mental and emotional well-being.
  • Assist with light housekeeping, laundry, and maintaining a tidy and comfortable living environment.
  • Accompany clients to appointments, social outings, or errands as required.
  • Monitor and record health changes, reporting any concerns promptly to the care manager.
  • Manage household tasks and contribute to the smooth running of the client's home.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date care records and daily logs.
  • Respect client privacy, dignity, and independence at all times.

Required Skills

  • Proven empathy, compassion, and a caring nature.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Reliability, punctuality, and a strong sense of responsibility.
  • Patience, resilience, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Basic cooking skills and an understanding of nutritional needs.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to individual client requirements.
  • Ability to work independently and manage own time effectively.
  • Full eligibility to work in the UK.

Preferred Qualifications

  • SVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent qualification).
  • Previous experience as a Live-In Care Worker or in a similar care role.
  • Valid UK driving license and access to a car (though not always essential, can be beneficial).
  • Training certificates in First Aid, Manual Handling, Dementia Care, or other relevant areas.
