As a freelance Event Planner, you will be the visionary behind our clients’ most significant moments. Your role will involve end-to-end planning, execution, and post-event analysis for a diverse range of events. Key Responsibilities
- Consult with clients to understand their vision, objectives, budget, and specific requirements for both wedding and corporate events.
- Develop detailed event proposals, including timelines, vendor selections, floor plans, and comprehensive budget outlines.
- Source, negotiate with, and manage a diverse range of vendors (caterers, venues, florists, photographers, entertainers, AV specialists, etc.) to ensure high-quality service and cost-effectiveness.
- Design and implement innovative event concepts, themes, and décor that align with client expectations and brand identity.
- Oversee all logistical aspects of event execution, including setup, teardown, and on-site management to ensure smooth operations.
- Manage event budgets, track expenses, and provide regular financial updates to clients.
- Coordinate with all involved parties, including clients, vendors, and venue staff, to ensure seamless communication and execution.
- Anticipate and proactively resolve any issues that may arise before, during, or after events.
- Conduct post-event evaluations, gather feedback, and analyze results to identify areas for improvement and client satisfaction.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, venues, and best practices in both wedding and corporate event planning.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as an Event Planner with a strong portfolio of both wedding and corporate events.
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong budget management and negotiation abilities.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in event management software and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Creative flair and a keen eye for design and aesthetics.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative network.
- Problem-solving aptitude and ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation for site visits and event days.
Preferred Qualifications

- Certification in Event Management (e.g., CSEP, CMP).
- Strong network of local vendors and venues in Kingston, Jamaica.
- Experience with destination weddings or international corporate events.
- Proficiency in a second language, particularly Spanish.
