Job Description

Career.zycto is seeking a dedicated and physically capable Warehouse Loader to join our bustling team in Hoylake, Liverpool. This pivotal role is responsible for the efficient and safe movement, loading, and unloading of goods within our warehouse and onto delivery vehicles. As a Warehouse Loader, you will be instrumental in maintaining the flow of our supply chain, ensuring that products are handled with care, correctly sorted, and accurately dispatched. Your day-to-day will involve a variety of tasks from receiving incoming shipments, verifying quantities against documentation, to meticulously packing and preparing orders for outgoing delivery. Precision, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety are paramount in this role, as you will be working with a diverse range of products and operational equipment. Key Responsibilities

  • Safely load and unload goods from vehicles and containers, utilizing appropriate material handling equipment such as pallet jacks and trolleys.
  • Verify incoming and outgoing shipments against invoices, manifests, or other documentation to ensure accuracy of quantity and type.
  • Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined organizational standards.
  • Operate warehouse equipment in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Prepare orders for shipment by picking, packing, wrapping, and labelling items accurately and securely.
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment within the warehouse, including regular housekeeping duties.
  • Assist with inventory counts and stock rotation as required, reporting discrepancies or damages immediately.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth and efficient warehouse operations.
  • Adhere strictly to all health and safety regulations, including manual handling techniques and equipment operating guidelines.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in a warehouse or logistics environment, particularly with loading/unloading duties.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy items (up to 25kg) regularly and safely.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in managing goods and documentation.
  • Strong understanding and adherence to health and safety regulations.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills and a positive, can-do attitude.
  • Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Forklift truck (FLT) licence (reach and/or counterbalance) – highly advantageous.
  • Experience with inventory management systems or warehouse management software.
  • Basic computer literacy for data entry and record-keeping.
  • Previous experience working in a fast-paced distribution centre.
