Job Description

Hootsuite is seeking a talented and dedicated Analytics Reporting Technician to join our dynamic team. Working entirely from your home office, but conceptually anchored to our vibrant West End, Vancouver community, you will be instrumental in maintaining and optimizing our existing reporting infrastructure. Beyond maintenance, a significant aspect of your role will involve developing new reports and dashboards from scratch, utilizing a variety of Business Intelligence (BI) tools to visualize complex data in an easily digestible format. Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and optimize recurring reports and dashboards using various BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Looker, Power BI).
- Ensure the accuracy, integrity, and consistency of data used in reporting through regular validation and quality checks.
- Automate reporting processes wherever possible to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements, understand their analytical needs, and translate them into effective reporting solutions.
- Provide technical support and guidance to users on reporting tools and data interpretation.
- Identify trends, anomalies, and key insights within datasets and communicate findings clearly to relevant teams.
- Document reporting processes, data definitions, and report specifications to maintain a comprehensive knowledge base.
- Assist in data extraction and transformation activities as needed for ad-hoc analysis.
- Stay up-to-date with industry best practices in data visualization, reporting, and business intelligence.
Required Skills
- Proven experience (3+ years) in a data reporting or analytics role.
- Strong proficiency in SQL for data querying and manipulation.
- Expertise with at least one major Business Intelligence tool (e.g., Tableau, Looker, Power BI).
- Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts and relational databases.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate complex data insights clearly and concisely to non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience with data quality assurance and validation.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently in a remote team environment.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, or a related quantitative field.
- Experience with Python or R for data analysis and scripting.
- Familiarity with cloud data platforms (e.g., AWS Redshift, Google BigQuery, Snowflake).
- Understanding of A/B testing methodologies and performance measurement in a SaaS context.
- Previous experience working in the social media or technology industry.
