Key Responsibilities
- Operate forklifts (after certification) safely and efficiently for material handling, including loading, unloading, stacking, and retrieving goods.
- Conduct thorough pre-operational forklift inspections daily and report any issues or maintenance needs promptly.
- Accurately assist with inventory counts, scanning, and documentation of all stock movements.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment within the warehouse at all times.
- Strictly adhere to all company safety policies, procedures, and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.
- Collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors to achieve daily operational goals and optimize workflow.
- Actively participate in all provided training and development programs to enhance forklift operation skills and safety awareness.
Required Skills
- Valid Class 3 (or equivalent) driving license, Mauritius.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and strict adherence to regulations.
- Ability to thrive and maintain focus in a dynamic, fast-paced warehouse setting.
- Good physical condition; capable of moderate lifting and movement of packages.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational abilities.
- A positive attitude, willingness to learn, and adaptability to new tasks and processes.
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills for inventory and documentation tasks.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in any role within a warehouse environment.
- Previous experience operating any type of heavy machinery.
- Familiarity with basic warehouse management systems (WMS).
- Proficiency in English and French/Creole for effective communication.
