As a Groundskeeper – Park & Facility Maintenance, you will be responsible for a wide array of tasks that keep our outdoor environments thriving. From meticulous lawn care, including mowing, edging, and fertilising, to comprehensive horticultural maintenance such as planting, pruning, and weeding flowerbeds and shrubberies, your work will be varied and impactful. You’ll also manage irrigation systems, ensuring optimal hydration for all plant life. Beyond green spaces, the role extends to ensuring the safety and upkeep of hard landscaping, including pathways, car parks, and site amenities like benches, signage, and waste receptacles. This involves regular litter removal, minor repairs, and maintaining the overall tidiness and functionality of the entire site.

Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine grounds maintenance tasks including mowing, edging, strimming, and weeding.
- Planting, pruning, and cultivating trees, shrubs, flowers, and turf.
- Operate and maintain a variety of grounds maintenance equipment and tools safely.
- Ensure pathways, roads, and hard-standing areas are clean, safe, and free from debris.
- Conduct regular litter picking and waste removal across all managed sites.
- Monitor and maintain irrigation systems, adjusting as necessary.
- Carry out minor repairs and maintenance to fences, gates, outdoor furniture, and other facility amenities.
- Report any significant damage, hazards, or maintenance issues to management.
- Adhere strictly to health and safety regulations at all times.
- Assist with seasonal tasks such as leaf blowing, snow removal, and gritting.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in groundskeeping or landscape maintenance.
- Proficiency in operating grounds maintenance equipment (mowers, strimmers, blowers, etc.).
- Strong knowledge of horticultural practices and plant care.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in various weather conditions.
- Excellent attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic understanding of health and safety regulations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant certifications (e.g., PA1/PA6 for pesticide application).
- Full UK driving license.
- Experience with irrigation system maintenance.
