Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, portion, and package a variety of meals, snacks, and beverages according to airline menus and specifications.
- Ensure strict adherence to all food safety, hygiene, and sanitation regulations (HACCP) at every stage of preparation and handling.
- Accurately assemble catering carts, verifying all items are present and correctly positioned for delivery to aircraft.
- Load and unload catering items and equipment onto specialized vehicles and into aircraft efficiently and safely.
- Operate and maintain kitchen equipment, including ovens, chillers, and dishwashers, ensuring they are clean and in good working order.
- Manage inventory of food products, beverages, and catering supplies, assisting with stock rotation and waste reduction.
- Collaborate effectively with team members, supervisors, and logistics personnel to meet tight flight schedules.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of all work areas, including kitchens, storage rooms, and catering vehicles.
- Comply with all airport security procedures and protocols during ground operations.
- Handle special dietary requests and ensure accurate labeling and separation of allergen-free meals.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in food preparation, catering, or a commercial kitchen environment.
- Solid understanding and practical application of food safety and hygiene regulations (HACCP).
- Ability to work efficiently and accurately in a fast-paced, deadline-driven setting.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Physical ability to lift and carry heavy items (up to 20kg) and stand for extended periods.
