Working closely with our finance and HR teams, you will manage end-to-end payroll activities. This includes inputting new hire data, processing various deductions (such as pensions, taxes, and benefits), calculating statutory payments (like sick pay and maternity/paternity leave), and generating comprehensive reports for management and compliance purposes. You will be the first point of contact for payroll-related queries, providing clear and helpful explanations to employees while maintaining strict confidentiality.

Key Responsibilities
- Process end-to-end payroll for all employees accurately and on time, adhering to company policies and UK legislation.
- Calculate and process statutory payments, deductions, and adjustments.
- Maintain accurate payroll records and employee data within the payroll system.
- Respond to and resolve payroll-related queries from employees efficiently and professionally.
- Assist with month-end and year-end payroll procedures, including P60s, P45s, and HMRC submissions.
- Generate comprehensive payroll reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Stay updated with changes in UK payroll legislation and ensure continuous compliance.
- Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to ensure seamless data flow and process improvements.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Payroll Assistant or in a similar payroll processing role.
- Strong understanding of UK payroll legislation, tax codes, and statutory payments (SSP, SMP, SPP etc.).
- Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., Sage Payroll, Xero Payroll, QuickBooks Payroll).
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- CIPP qualification or working towards one.
- Experience with international payrolls or managing payroll for a diverse workforce.
- Prior experience in a recruitment or professional services environment.
