In this pivotal role, you will be the backbone of our HR department, providing comprehensive administrative support with a crucial focus on our visa-sponsored employees. You will play an instrumental part in ensuring a seamless and positive experience for our international hires, from their initial application journey through to their successful integration and ongoing support within the UK. Your daily tasks will span across general HR administration, but a significant portion of your time will be dedicated to navigating the complexities of UK immigration processes, particularly the Skilled Worker visa route. You’ll be instrumental in preparing documentation, managing timelines, and liaising with external legal advisors and government bodies.
We are looking for someone with an exceptional eye for detail, a proactive approach, and a deep understanding of the sensitivity involved in immigration matters. You will serve as a primary point of contact for visa-sponsored employees, offering guidance and support with empathy and professionalism. Beyond visa-specific duties, you will also contribute to broader HR functions, including maintaining accurate employee records, assisting with onboarding and offboarding processes, administering benefits, and ensuring compliance with all relevant HR policies and legislation. Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for visa-sponsored employees, providing guidance and support on immigration-related queries.
- Manage the end-to-end administration of visa sponsorship applications, renewals, and extensions for international employees, ensuring strict adherence to UK immigration regulations.
- Prepare, review, and submit all necessary documentation for visa applications, working closely with external legal counsel and government agencies.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all visa and immigration statuses, ensuring compliance and timely action.
- Assist with the comprehensive onboarding and offboarding processes for all employees, with a particular focus on the specific needs of international hires.
- Administer employee benefits programs and maintain meticulous employee records within the HR Information System (HRIS).
- Draft and issue HR correspondence, contracts, and other employment-related documents.
- Support HR management in policy implementation, compliance, and various HR projects.
- Handle general HR inquiries, providing accurate and timely information or escalating as appropriate.
- Ensure all HR activities comply with UK employment law and internal policies.
Required Skills
- Proven experience (minimum 2 years) in an HR administrative role.
- Solid understanding of UK immigration policies and processes, particularly the Skilled Worker (Tier 2) visa route.
- Exceptional organisational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Proficiency in using HR Information Systems (HRIS) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey complex information clearly and empathetically.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality.
- Proactive approach to problem-solving and task management.
Preferred Qualifications
- CIPD Level 3 or 5 qualification (or working towards).
- Previous experience in a recruitment agency or an organisation with a significant international workforce.
- Familiarity with compliance audits related to visa sponsorship.
- Multilingual abilities are a plus, especially in languages common among international applicants.
