Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and organize legal documents, pleadings, affidavits, and correspondence for filing.
  • Systematically file and retrieve physical and electronic case documents, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Lodge documents at court registries, land registries, and other relevant government offices promptly.
  • Maintain and update comprehensive digital and physical case filing systems.
  • Assist advocates in preparing court bundles, ensuring all required documents are collated and indexed correctly.
  • Monitor court diary and deadlines, ensuring timely filing and service of documents.
  • Conduct basic legal research and information gathering as directed by advocates.
  • Handle incoming and outgoing legal mail and couriers.
  • Liaise with court clerks, process servers, and other external parties to facilitate document processing.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant legal procedures and internal firm policies.
  • Assist with general administrative duties as required to support the legal team.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as an advocate clerk, legal assistant, or similar role with a focus on case filing.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
