As an Animator – 2D & 3D, you will play a pivotal role in the conceptualisation, design, and execution of captivating animated content for a wide array of clients and platforms. From initial storyboarding and character design in 2D to intricate modelling, rigging, and rendering in 3D, your expertise will span the full animation pipeline. You will collaborate closely with our art directors, designers, and project managers to translate ideas into polished, high-quality animations that not only meet but exceed client expectations. We are looking for someone who possesses a keen eye for detail, a strong understanding of animation principles (timing, spacing, anticipation, squash and stretch, etc.), and the ability to adapt their style to suit various project requirements.
Your day-to-day will involve developing creative concepts, producing engaging animated sequences, and refining your work based on feedback, all while managing your time effectively across multiple projects. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute high-quality 2D and 3D animations for various projects, including character animation, motion graphics, and visual effects.
- Collaborate with art directors and creative teams to conceptualise, storyboard, and develop animated sequences from initial ideas to final production.
- Create 3D models, textures, rigs, and environments as needed for projects.
- Ensure consistency in animation style, quality, and adherence to project deadlines and client specifications.
- Incorporate feedback from stakeholders to refine and enhance animation work.
- Stay updated with industry trends, software, and techniques to continuously improve workflow and output.
- Manage and organise animation assets and project files efficiently.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in industry-standard 3D animation software (e.g., Autodesk Maya, Blender, Cinema 4D).
- Expertise in 2D animation and motion graphics software (e.g., Adobe After Effects, Animate, Toon Boom Harmony).
- Strong understanding of animation principles (timing, spacing, weight, anticipation, follow-through).
- Solid portfolio showcasing diverse 2D and 3D animation work.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment and take creative direction.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Animation, Fine Arts, Digital Media, or a related field.
- Experience with character rigging and skinning.
- Knowledge of visual effects (VFX) creation.
- Familiarity with game engines (e.g., Unity, Unreal Engine) is a plus.
