Job Description
Career.zycto is seeking a dedicated and experienced Industrial Relations Officer to join our team in Oberhausen. In this critical full-time role, you will be instrumental in fostering positive and productive relationships between management and employees, ensuring adherence to labor laws, collective bargaining agreements, and company policies. You will serve as a key advisor on all matters related to industrial relations, contributing significantly to a fair, equitable, and harmonious workplace.
This position requires a deep understanding of German labor law, exceptional negotiation skills, and a proven ability to resolve disputes effectively. You will be responsible for interpreting complex legal frameworks, representing the company in discussions with employee representatives, and developing strategies to prevent and mitigate workplace conflicts. Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all industrial relations matters, including communication with works councils, trade unions, and employee representatives.
- Interpret and ensure compliance with German labor laws, collective bargaining agreements, and internal company policies.
- Participate in and lead negotiations with works councils on various topics, including working conditions, compensation, restructuring, and social plans.
- Advise management on best practices in employee relations, labor law, and dispute resolution.
- Develop, implement, and review HR policies and procedures to ensure alignment with legal requirements and company objectives.
- Manage and resolve employee grievances and disciplinary issues in a fair, consistent, and legally compliant manner.
- Conduct internal investigations into workplace disputes or misconduct.
- Provide training and guidance to managers and employees on industrial relations topics and compliance.
- Stay updated on changes in labor legislation and industrial relations trends to anticipate and address potential impacts on the organization.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as an Industrial Relations Officer or similar role, preferably in Germany.
- In-depth knowledge of German labor law (Arbeitsrecht) and collective bargaining processes.
- Exceptional negotiation, mediation, and conflict resolution skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in German and English.
- Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- High degree of integrity, empathy, and professional judgment.
Preferred Qualifications
- University degree in Law, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
