Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate daily warehouse activities, including receiving, storing, picking, packing, and dispatching.
  • Manage inventory accuracy through regular cycle counts, physical inventories, and reconciliation of discrepancies.
  • Ensure efficient utilization of warehouse space and equipment.
  • Lead, mentor, and train a team of warehouse operatives, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
  • Implement and enforce health and safety regulations and company policies.
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as order fulfillment rates, inventory accuracy, and dispatch efficiency.
  • Operate and maintain warehouse management systems (WMS) for accurate data entry and reporting.
  • Oversee the loading and unloading of goods, ensuring proper documentation and handling procedures are followed.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Resolve operational issues promptly and effectively, escalating when necessary.
  • Collaborate with other departments (e.g., procurement, sales, transport) to ensure seamless supply chain operations.
  • Conduct performance reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Warehouse Supervisor or in a similar leadership role within a logistics environment.
  • Strong knowledge of inventory management principles and best practices.
  • Proficiency in using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
  • Excellent leadership, team management, and motivational skills.
  • Exceptional organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
  • Solid understanding of health and safety regulations in a warehouse setting.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Forklift operator certification (Reach, Counterbalance).
  • Relevant professional certification in logistics or supply chain management.
  • Experience with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement methodologies.
  • First Aid certification.
  • Knowledge of local transport regulations.
