Key Responsibilities
- Actively scout, identify, and evaluate new artists, producers, and songwriters across various genres and platforms.
- Attend live shows, showcases, and industry events to discover emerging talent.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with artists, managers, attorneys, and other industry professionals.
- Prepare comprehensive reports on potential signings, including market analysis, competitive landscape, and commercial viability.
- Negotiate and secure recording and publishing deals in collaboration with legal and business affairs.
- Collaborate with marketing, publicity, and creative teams to develop and execute artist development plans.
- Provide creative input and guidance to artists on song selection, production, and overall artistic direction.
- Monitor music industry trends, competitor activities, and digital consumption patterns to inform A&R strategies.
- Manage artist budgets and project timelines effectively.
Required Skills
- Minimum 4 years of experience in A&R, artist management, or a related role within the music industry.
- Demonstrated ability to identify and sign successful musical talent.
- Profound knowledge of music genres, trends, and the current artist landscape.
- Strong networking and relationship-building skills.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation abilities.
- Proficiency in digital music platforms and social media analytics.
- Bachelor's degree in Music Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel frequently for scouting and industry events.
Preferred Qualifications
- Existing network of industry contacts (artists, producers, managers, promoters).
- Experience with music production software (e.g., Logic Pro, Ableton Live).
- Multilingual abilities, especially relevant to local or international music markets.
- Experience in both major label and independent music environments.
