Key Responsibilities
- Actively scout for new and emerging musical talent across various genres, both online and through live performances and industry events.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with artists, managers, producers, promoters, and other key industry contacts.
- Stay informed on current music trends, emerging artists, and cultural shifts within the global music landscape.
- Evaluate demos, online submissions, and artist portfolios, identifying potential for commercial success and artistic merit.
- Prepare comprehensive talent reports, including artist profiles, market analysis, and potential development strategies.
- Attend concerts, showcases, and industry networking events in Berlin and potentially other key music cities.
- Collaborate with the A&R team to discuss potential signings, artistic direction, and project development.
- Negotiate and facilitate initial discussions with artists regarding potential partnerships and contracts.
- Provide constructive feedback and guidance to artists on their material and career trajectory.
- Assist in the development of signed artists, from song selection to recording and visual branding.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as an A&R scout, talent buyer, or in a related music industry role.
- Deep and broad knowledge of contemporary music genres and emerging artists.
- Exceptional networking and relationship-building abilities within the music community.
- Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Acute analytical skills with the ability to identify market trends and artist potential.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Proficiency in English; German language skills are a strong advantage.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Music Business, Arts Administration, or a related field.
