As our Sound Technician, Studio Setup, you will be the architect behind the acoustic environment, responsible for the design, installation, calibration, and ongoing maintenance of our state-of-the-art audio studios and production suites. Key Responsibilities
- Design, install, configure, and calibrate professional audio equipment for various studio environments (recording, broadcast, post-production, live streaming).
- Perform acoustic analysis and implement appropriate treatments to optimize studio sound quality.
- Set up, test, and troubleshoot microphones, mixing consoles (analog and digital), outboard gear, amplifiers, speakers, and monitoring systems.
- Install and configure Digital Audio Workstations (DAWs) such as Pro Tools, Logic Pro, Ableton Live, ensuring seamless integration with hardware.
- Conduct regular maintenance, repairs, and upgrades of all studio audio systems to ensure peak performance and reliability.
- Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues related to audio signal flow, grounding, cabling, and software conflicts.
- Maintain accurate inventory of audio equipment and manage technical documentation for all studio setups.
- Provide technical support and guidance to producers, engineers, and artists during recording and mixing sessions.
- Stay updated with emerging audio technologies, software, and industry best practices.
- Ensure all installations comply with safety regulations and industry standards.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in audio engineering principles and acoustics.
- Extensive experience with professional audio hardware (microphones, consoles, interfaces, processors).
- Strong knowledge of Digital Audio Workstations (DAWs) like Pro Tools, Logic Pro, Cubase, or Ableton Live.
- Expertise in signal flow, gain staging, wiring, and cabling standards (XLR, TRS, BNC, etc.).
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex audio system issues.
- Familiarity with network audio protocols (Dante, AVB) and IP-based audio solutions.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Audio Engineering, Broadcast Technology, or a related field.
- Certifications from major audio equipment manufacturers (e.g., Avid Pro Tools, Yamaha, SSL).
- Experience with studio build-outs or major audio system integrations.
- Knowledge of video synchronization and integration with audio systems.
- Prior experience in a broadcast or high-end recording studio environment.
