Key Responsibilities
- Perform skilled diagnostic and repair services on residential, commercial, and industrial HVAC systems, including furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, chillers, and ventilation systems.
- Install new HVAC equipment and systems according to manufacturer specifications and local codes.
- Conduct preventative maintenance inspections and service calls to ensure system longevity and efficiency.
- Troubleshoot complex electrical, mechanical, and refrigerant issues, providing effective and lasting solutions.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with clients, explaining technical issues and proposed solutions.
- Maintain accurate records of all service, repair, and installation activities.
- Adhere to all safety regulations, company policies, and industry best practices.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with HVAC technology and trends.
- Manage truck stock and inventory, ensuring necessary parts are available for service calls.
- Provide on-call emergency service as part of a rotation schedule.
Required Skills
- Minimum 4 years of proven experience as an HVAC Technician.
- Solid understanding of HVAC systems, components, and their functions.
- Proficiency in diagnosing electrical and mechanical faults.
- Expertise in refrigerant handling, recovery, and charging.
- Strong knowledge of safety standards and codes relevant to HVAC work.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical manuals.
- Competency with various hand and power tools specific to the HVAC trade.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant trade qualification or diploma in HVAC/Refrigeration.
