Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet and escort patients to examination rooms, preparing them for medical examinations and procedures.
  • Obtain and record vital signs, medical histories, and chief complaints accurately.
  • Assist physicians during examinations and minor surgical procedures.
  • Perform phlebotomy, administer injections, and conduct basic laboratory tests as directed by a physician.
  • Sterilize medical instruments and maintain clean, organized examination rooms.
  • Manage and update electronic health records (EHR) with patient information and visit summaries.
  • Schedule appointments, manage referrals, and process prescription refills.
  • Educate patients on pre- and post-procedure instructions, medication usage, and general health information.
  • Handle patient inquiries, provide clear explanations, and address concerns in a professional manner.
  • Maintain strict patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and efficient patient care.

Required Skills

  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) credential.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant in a clinical setting.
  • Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems.
  • Excellent venipuncture and injection administration skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  • CPR/BLS certification.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in Medical Assisting.
