Sun-Rype Products Ltd., a beloved Canadian brand renowned for its delicious and wholesome fruit-based products, is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Corporate Quality Control Aide to join our team in a fully remote capacity. While our roots are firmly planted in Kelowna, BC, this unique opportunity allows you to contribute to our commitment to excellence from anywhere, operating within a standard Pacific Time Zone work schedule. As a Corporate Quality Control Aide, you will play a crucial supportive role in maintaining and enhancing the stringent quality standards that Sun-Rype customers have trusted for generations. You will be instrumental in assisting with the daily operations of our Quality Assurance department, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements, internal specifications, and best practices across our product lines. This position is ideal for an individual with a keen eye for detail, a methodical approach to tasks, and a strong ability to manage documentation and data remotely. Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation, review, and management of quality assurance documentation, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and quality records, ensuring all documents are current and compliant.
- Perform accurate data entry and maintain comprehensive records within our Quality Management Systems (QMS), various databases, and spreadsheets.
- Support the compilation of detailed reports, charts, and summaries related to quality performance, non-conformances, internal/external audits, and corrective/preventative actions for management review.
- Facilitate seamless remote communication and coordination with various internal departments (e.g., Production, Research & Development, Supply Chain) to gather necessary quality information and ensure timely follow-up on quality-related issues.
- Assist with the tracking and trending of key quality metrics, identifying potential areas for improvement and promptly flagging any observed discrepancies.
- Participate actively in virtual team meetings to discuss quality initiatives, share updates on ongoing projects, and contribute to collaborative problem-solving efforts.
- Help organize and maintain digital archives of all quality assurance documents, ensuring easy accessibility, traceability, and compliance with retention policies.
- Support the preparation for both internal and external audits by compiling all required documentation and assisting with preliminary data analysis as needed.
- Conduct basic research on regulatory updates and industry best practices related to food safety and quality, providing concise summaries and recommendations to the QA team.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of quality processes by suggesting efficiencies, identifying bottlenecks, and aiding in the implementation of new procedures and technologies.
Required Skills
- Proven ability to work independently and efficiently in a remote work environment.
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Basic understanding of quality control principles or food safety standards.
- Strong data entry and record-keeping abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
Preferred Qualifications
- 1+ year of experience in an administrative, data entry, or quality support role, preferably within the food and beverage industry.
- Familiarity with Quality Management Systems (QMS) software.
- Post-secondary education in a relevant field (e.g., Food Science, Quality Assurance, Business Administration).
- Knowledge of HACCP, SQF, BRC, or other food safety certifications.
