Job Description

This role is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and eager individual looking to kickstart a career in the plumbing trade. As an Entry-Level Plumber Helper at Career.zycto, you will work closely with experienced plumbers, gaining invaluable hands-on experience and learning the intricacies of the profession from the ground up. Your daily tasks will involve assisting our lead plumbers with a wide range of installation, maintenance, and repair projects. This includes everything from preparing work sites, transporting tools and materials, and cleaning up after jobs, to observing and eventually assisting with more complex tasks like pipe fitting, drain cleaning, and fixture installations. You’ll learn about various plumbing systems, safety protocols, local building codes, and the importance of precision and problem-solving in every task. We’re looking for someone who is reliable, a quick learner, and physically capable of handling the demands of the job, including lifting, carrying, and working in various environments. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist lead plumbers in the installation, repair, and maintenance of plumbing systems.
  • Prepare work sites by gathering necessary tools, equipment, and materials.
  • Transport materials and tools to and from job sites efficiently and safely.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including tidying up after project completion.
  • Learn to identify and properly use various plumbing tools and equipment.
  • Follow all safety protocols and procedures on every job site.
  • Observe and learn from experienced plumbers, actively asking questions and seeking knowledge.
  • Perform basic tasks as directed, such as cutting pipe, fetching parts, and holding fixtures.
  • Assist with the loading and unloading of company vehicles.
  • Help troubleshoot simple plumbing issues under direct supervision.
  • Develop a foundational understanding of plumbing codes and regulations.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and potentially with clients.

Required Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and perform strenuous physical tasks.
  • Strong work ethic and eagerness to learn a skilled trade.
  • Reliable and punctual with a professional attitude.
  • Basic understanding of hand and power tools is a plus, but not required.
