Key Responsibilities

  • Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and personal hygiene.
  • Provide support with instrumental activities of daily living (IADLs) such as light housekeeping, laundry, meal planning, and preparation.
  • Assist with safe mobility, transfers, and ambulation, utilizing appropriate techniques and equipment.
  • Provide companionship, engage in meaningful conversation, and participate in recreational activities.
  • Remind clients to take medications as prescribed (no administration of medication).
  • Run errands, shop for groceries, or accompany clients to appointments.
  • Monitor and report changes in client’s health, behavior, or living conditions to the appropriate supervisor.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized environment within the client's home.
  • Document services provided accurately and punctually.

Required Skills

  • Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to follow instructions and adapt to various client needs.
  • Basic understanding of hygiene and safety principles (training provided).
  • Physical ability to assist clients with mobility and perform light household tasks.
  • High school diploma or GED (or willingness to obtain within a reasonable timeframe).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in a caregiving role (formal or informal, e.g., caring for a family member).
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • CPR and First Aid certification (can be obtained during training).
  • Knowledge of basic nutrition and meal preparation.
