Job Description

Cenovus Energy is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Entry Level Translation Support Coordinator to join our dynamic team in Beltline, Calgary. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the coordination and tracking of translation projects from initiation to completion.
  • Liaise between internal departments and external language service providers to ensure timely delivery and quality.
  • Manage and organize translation requests, documents, and glossaries using internal systems.
  • Conduct initial quality checks on translated materials to ensure adherence to company guidelines and linguistic standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of project status, budgets, and vendor information.
  • Support the onboarding and management of new translation vendors.
  • Provide administrative support to the broader communications and project management teams.
  • Identify and escalate potential project risks or issues to senior coordinators or project managers.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of translation workflows and processes.

Required Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree in Linguistics, Communications, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills with the ability to multitask.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving capabilities and a proactive attitude.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with translation memory (TM) tools or other language technology platforms.
  • Basic understanding of translation and localization processes.
  • Experience in an administrative or coordination role, even through internships or volunteer work.
