Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Process purchase orders and requisitions in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Assist in negotiating with suppliers to secure the best pricing, terms, and delivery schedules.
  • Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and other supplier data.
  • Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with relevant departments to forecast purchasing needs.
  • Support the evaluation of supplier performance and contribute to vendor relationship management.
  • Resolve invoicing queries and discrepancies with suppliers and internal finance teams.
  • Conduct market research to identify new suppliers and potential cost-saving opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with all purchasing regulations and internal control policies.
  • Prepare reports on purchasing activities, spending, and supplier performance as required.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Purchasing Assistant or in a similar procurement role (minimum 2 years).
  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, international environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Experience with an ERP system (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite).
  • Familiarity with UK market suppliers and regulations.
  • Previous experience working in a multinational company or with international supply chains.
  • CIPS qualification or working towards one.
