Career.zycto, a dynamic and expanding law firm in Bomet County, is seeking a diligent Advocate Clerk specializing in Case Filing to join our dedicated team. As an Advocate Clerk – Case Filing, you will be the backbone of our case management system, ensuring the seamless and accurate processing of all legal documents. Your primary responsibility will involve the efficient organization, indexing, and filing of client cases, correspondences, and court documents. This includes preparing and lodging applications, petitions, affidavits, and other relevant pleadings with various courts and tribunals across Kenya, particularly within the Bomet region.

Beyond just filing, this role demands a proactive approach to monitoring case progress, tracking deadlines, and maintaining comprehensive digital and physical filing systems. You will be responsible for ensuring that all documents are current, correctly categorized, and easily retrievable, contributing directly to the operational efficiency and success of our legal practice. Key Responsibilities

  • Efficiently manage, organize, and maintain both physical and electronic case files.
  • Prepare and lodge legal documents, including pleadings, applications, and affidavits, with courts and tribunals.
  • Track and monitor case deadlines, court dates, and status updates.
  • Assist advocates in preparing court bundles, hearing files, and trial exhibits.
  • Manage incoming and outgoing legal correspondence, ensuring proper record-keeping.
  • Conduct basic legal research and retrieve necessary statutes, precedents, and rules.
  • Ensure strict adherence to confidentiality protocols and data protection regulations.
  • Maintain an up-to-date registry of all active and closed cases.
  • Liaise with court registries, clients, and other stakeholders as required.

Required Skills
