Key Responsibilities

  • Provide assistance with daily living activities, including personal care (bathing, dressing, grooming) and mobility support.
  • Assist clients with medication reminders and ensure timely adherence to prescribed schedules.
  • Prepare nutritious meals and assist with feeding as required, considering dietary restrictions and preferences.
  • Perform light housekeeping duties, including laundry, tidying living spaces, and ensuring a safe, clean environment.
  • Offer companionship and engage clients in stimulating activities, fostering social interaction and emotional well-being.
  • Accompany clients to appointments, errands, or social outings, ensuring their safety and comfort during transport.
  • Monitor and report any changes in clients' health, behaviour, or well-being to the supervisory staff.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential client records, documenting care provided and observations.
  • Adhere strictly to all health and safety protocols, company policies, and ethical standards.
  • Communicate effectively and empathetically with clients, their families, and other healthcare professionals.

Required Skills

  • Demonstrated empathy, patience, and a compassionate approach to care.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written English).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a dedicated team.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
  • Basic first aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Legal eligibility to work in Canada upon successful visa sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certificate or diploma in Health Care Assistant (HCA), Resident Care Aide (RCA), or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 6 months of supervised experience in a caregiving role (e.g., home care, long-term care, hospital setting).
  • Valid BC Driver's License and access to a reliable vehicle.
  • Proficiency in additional languages relevant to the diverse communities in Burke Mountain, Coquitlam.
