Job Description
Career.zycto is actively seeking a highly motivated and culturally sensitive ESL Teacher to join our vibrant team in Fernwood, Victoria. This pivotal role involves delivering engaging and effective English language instruction to adult learners from various international backgrounds. As an ESL Teacher, you will play a crucial role in helping our students not only master the English language but also adapt to Australian culture and everyday life. You will be responsible for planning, preparing, and delivering lessons that cover all four key language skills: reading, writing, listening, and speaking, along with grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation. Key Responsibilities
- Design and deliver engaging and comprehensive ESL lessons to adult learners of varying proficiency levels.
- Develop lesson plans, instructional materials, and activities that align with curriculum objectives and student needs.
- Assess student progress regularly through quizzes, tests, assignments, and active participation, providing constructive feedback.
- Create a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment conducive to learning for students from diverse cultural backgrounds.
- Integrate authentic materials and real-world scenarios to enhance practical language application and cultural understanding.
- Provide guidance and support to students on language learning strategies, cultural adaptation, and academic development.
- Participate in curriculum review and development, contributing innovative ideas to enhance our programs.
- Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and ensure consistency in teaching standards and student experience.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, performance, and progress.
- Attend regular team meetings, professional development workshops, and school events.
Required Skills
- TESOL, CELTA, or DELTA qualification (or equivalent recognised ESL teaching certificate)
- Native or near-native English proficiency
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong understanding of ESL pedagogical principles and methodologies
- Ability to work effectively with diverse student populations
- Proficiency in developing engaging lesson plans and instructional materials
